Why this exists
Search almost any question about traffic school and nearly every answer on the first page is published by a company selling traffic school. Search how to get a DMV appointment and you find a scatter of sites, several of which want to charge you for something your state does free.
That is a bad way to get information about something with real consequences. Book the wrong appointment type and you lose the slot. Miss an election deadline and the points land. Turn up without the right document and you go home and start again.
We have nothing to sell you on those pages, so we can say plainly when traffic school will not remove your points, when a course is not worth the money, and when you do not need to visit the DMV at all.
How we work
Checked against official sources.State guides are written from that state's own DMV, statute or court information, not from other people's blog posts. Where a state's own sources disagree, we say so rather than pick the tidier answer.
We tell you when the answer is no. Plenty of people arrive here about to buy something they do not need. If your state will not let you use traffic school, or your points will lapse anyway, that is what the page will tell you.
